This is the story of legendary Kung Fu Warrior Luc Van Tien. He lives in the 19th Century. He’s traveling to take part in Mandarin Civil Services Events when he’s interrupted upon seeing the attempted capture by thugs of young and beautiful Nguyet Nga. A battle ensues. The thugs are no match for this warrior. Nguyet is saved, temporarily. Luc and Nguyet fall in love. However, the thugs come back with a vengeance, throwing Luc off guard. He is tied up and caged. Nguyet is captured and transcended to the modern world.
Once Luc is freed from his bonds, he transcends to the modern world in full battle gear and horse to search for Nguyet. He arrives by riding in the middle of a movie shoot. Teo, a young man on the shoot, sees that Luc is lost and decides to befriend him. He gets him a temporary job doing horse tricks in a live show in front of an audience. The attackers that captured Nguyet recognize Luc and try to kill him. The audience applauds to a masterful martial arts display by Luc, once again beating his foes bloody. The attackers go to their crime boss headquarters and report this incident. The crime boss has the business of capturing young ladies and selling them to the highest bidders. He wants Luc out of the way, and Nguyet is his personal slave on a very tight leash. He sends for two Kung Fu Professionals to do his bidding.
Teo take Luc home to live with him. Luc has no money or clothes. He’s totally baffled and confused by the modern conveniences of living. Teo stops LUC from drinking out of the toilet. Luc almost fries to death, putting his finger in an electric socket. He’s freaked out by a program on TV.
Teo helps Luc search for his lost love. A young girl in the distance that Luc thinks is Nguyet is being captured. Luc comes to the rescue and beats away her captures. It turns out her name is Mong Nga, not Nguyet Nga. Teo takes a liking to her. She likes him as well.
Nguyet is the Tea Lady, a job assigned her in this Tea House that is the headquarters for the crime boss’s enterprises. Luc spots Nguyet in front of the Tea House and approaches her. She pretends not to know him to protect him from danger. She calls security and escorts him away from the Tea House. A distance away, Luc is confronted by the two Kung Fu Pro’s hired by the crime boss. They beat Luc unconscious. Nguyet comes to his aid and nurses him back to health. They go off together and acknowledge their love for each other.
The crime boss is livid that Luc hasn’t been destroyed. Nguyet is taken away from Luc once again and held capture in the Tea House. She witnesses the crime boss hiring a strong man from the waist up, and weak in the legs from the waist down.
The climactic battle has Luc destroying an army of men from shipping a load of girls to be sold to slavery. He even manages to destroy the two Kung Fu Professionals, but Luc is near death from the experience. Mong and Teo free Nguyet and take her to the mortally wounded Luc. Her love for him transfers an energy back into Luc and he regains his strength.
It takes Luc, Teo, Nguyet, and Mong together to destroy the crime boss, his second in command, and the strong man. Now, Luc and Nguyet can live in peace and harmony in the modern world.
