Retired big city attorney, Jim Crawford recently suffered a family loss leaving him grief stricken. After he is confronted by the Archangel, Raphael, who inexplicably points him in the direction of a wolf den, Jim discovers four orphaned wolf pups who will not survive if he doesn’t help them. So he takes them in and learns to care for them, raising them so they could eventually roam the forest on their own.
Meanwhile Jim’s legal skills become a barrier to an unscrupulous developer, (Beddows), who is trying to take over the town. But a scheme by Beddows to get Jim out of the way by putting his wolf friends in danger, has unexpected consequences. While in the forest searching for the wolves, Jim is attacked by a grizzly bear; then suddenly the wolves appear on the scene and attack the bear. Jim then realizes they have always been there…watching out for him. His gift of life to them has been repaid, and he has four loyal “friends for life.”
A wounded but determined Jim is joined by his son, and together they reveal Beddows’ fraudulent attempts to steal the property of the townspeople. Raphael’s assignment is complete; Jim and his family are reunited, the town is saved, and the wolves are a continued reminder that the best things in life happen when you give yourself to helping others.
