Harbinger (Short Film)

A banker and his wife are expecting a child. Before he heads off to work, his wife reminds him to meet her at 3:00PM for a scheduled appointment. He arrives at a client’s home to inform her that her home is being repossessed, but two soldiers have made it there before him. He overhears the soldiers give her news of her husband’s death overseas. He calls his boss to try and get out of delivering additional bad news to the woman, but his boss does not provide any leeway. The banker delivers the news to the numb woman but she does not respond. He gets a call from his boss informing him that the house’s mortgage is covered by the dead soldier’s life insurance. The banker enters back into the house and looks for the woman who has drifted off. He finds her in the bathroom with a gun. He tries to keep her from killing herself, but the gun goes off. The man is shot and killed. The woman sits on the bathroom floor while his wife’s message plays. She is at their appointment and she is wondering where he is.
